C▪H▪Reynolds was mandated by Hochtemperatur Engineering GmbH (hte) with the identification and addressing of buyers in a sellside transaction. The target company, Z & J Technologies GmbH, is an international manufacturer of large valves for the iron and steel industry, the petrochemicals sector and the glass industry. With approx. 330 employees, Z&J Technologies has consolidated sales figure of about €65 million.

The buyer, hte, was a portfolio company of a DBAG fund, Deutsche Beteiligungs AG, Frankfurt. The main goal – besides achieving a satisfying purchase price – was maintaining confidentiality during the transaction process in a relatively narrow market environment.

The speed of the transaction process was high, and comprised of three offer phases as well as the parallel due diligence with several interested parties. The MBO was completed with Equita Management GmbH.
